Wait...you...*whispers* POLE DANCE?!

People are often surprised to hear I pole dance. And even more surprised to hear just how much I love it. Is it weird to say I'm passionate about pole?

Passion is an attribute I'm associated with often. But pole dancing isn't...until recently. Something I've tried to hide until my six pack is ready for its debut cause only then is pole dancing justified apparently. I'm using an alias because no six pack yet.

I've always been passionate about dancing - mixing music and movement like a PB and J to create pure joy is genius. What is life without dancing!? I was 14 sat on my aunties couch till early hours in the morning watching this clip on repeat mesmerized by it all. "Gosh, you're still watching this?!..." my cousins exclaims.

I grew up to go to university for dance. I made it into dance school "I can die happy now" I told my mom. But I had to cut my studies short due to chronic back pain. That I'll leave for a later post.

Wait...you....*whispers* pole dance!? *continues to whisper* do your parents know?? ...does your brother know???

Well firstly let's let the judgement dissipate for a second. Secondly, yes my parents know. In fact they allowed me to set up a pole in my older brothers old room (muahaha) albeit after some convincing. And my family is pretty conservative. A characteristic that is terribly subjective so it's hard to say really.

Polarization or pole-arization (!!). That's a word I've heard a LOT of these days. Strong feelings for or against something. Maybe it boils down to a lack of awareness. Or preconceptions. Give me 5 mins and you'll understand.

Do you ever feel like you have to justify why you pole?! Leave me a comment! I'd love to hear from you!
